Splitboarding goes Longboard and a Poacher Split lands on the podium of the oldschoolers.
This and more pictures than words here in our LBC Report: 2 Days of Peace, Love and Snow.
See you on Saturday 6 April 2019 at the 20th Longboard Classic in Stuben am Arlberg.

Right at the beginning we would like to announce the 20th LBC in Stuben, which will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019! Everyone who was at least one time at the LBC has to celebrate this birthday there with us. Mastermind Paul Gruber has already promised this much: It's going to be a huge party with even more live sound and still more Peace, Love and Snow - if that's even possible!

470 active participants shredded the 1001 meters of altitude from the Albona Ridge down to Stuben. This created a lot of positive vibes which will last well into the 20th anniversary next year!

Longboard Classic Stuben #19

We were there again and while Patrick premiered this time with his solid long Duotone at the Longboard Masters (picture 10), the snowboard veteran Bertl Kletzmair spontaneously grabbed the old Atomic Poacher Split (picture 16) from his friend Muck Müller and took the 3rd place with the Oldschool men.

The race traditionally sees mass starts in three separate categories with rankings for both men and women:
NoSchool Men/ Women, Masters Men/ Women, Oldschool Men/ Women.

Among the starting field were favorites from the last few years like Matt Waibel (oldschool) and the eternal rivals Ralf Castelberg and Matthias Jorda (masters).

After launching all three categories after each other at 1.30pm only a few kids and a handful of media representatives were left on the ridge. It has become a tradition that the kids then descend next to the race track in best firn snow conditions. Once arrived in the finish area organizer Paul Gruber welcomed the kids just as enthusiastic as all adult riders before.

Which also led to the relaxed part of the day. Reggae tunes by local DJs Mr Mood, DJ Supoort, CM Booga and Cashers Kalys from Lüzidas as well as 2 DJs from Innsbruck’s Club Charlotte were the perfect background to the sunshine in Stuben. After the prize-giving Konvoi Snowboards presented the Italian one man band Belly Hole Freak.

The prize-giving lasted a short hour. This time, Ralph Castelberg managed to win the eternal duel in the Masters Men category and pushed Matthias Jorda to second place. Matt Waibel one the Old School category ahead of Phillip Wenter and the Austrian snowboarding legend Bertl Kletzmair. The No School Girls podium also went to well-known faces like Tamara Günthard, Stefanie Günther and Elisabeth Dünser. Please refer to the result table for all other results!

Meanwhile already part of the inventory of the Longboard Classic, the legendary Mortal Kombat sound system featuring UCee heated up again at night, with fat reggae and dancehall beats for the crowd in the party tent... until finally calm returned, under the starry Stubener sky and the white shining slopes of the Albonagrat.

Sunday starts even warmer and so we only have time for a short exploration tour beyond the Albona ridge in the direction of the Kaltenberg, from where the last climbers of the day just leave and also we quickly ride down the 1300 vertical meters to Langen.

And now again the anniversary date to note down:
