Who is this splitboard binding for?

Karakoram Straightline is intended for riders looking for particularly stiff Karakoram binding for speed, firm traverses and direct power transfer. Karakoram Straightline works best with a medium-stiff or stiff splitboard boot. This combination loses little power between cuff, highback and board and suits heavier riders, firm traverses, steep lines and stiffer splitboards.

How does the system work?

Karakoram Straightline uses Prime Ride Mode 3.0 with a stiff X-Type heelcup. Karakoram actively pulls the board halves together in ride mode. That firm connection supports torsional stiffness and edge pressure, while negative forward lean creates room for a longer touring stride.

What is included and what else do you need?

Manufacturer package for Karakoram Straightline: a binding pair and the ride/tour hardware specified by the manufacturer
Plan separately: Confirm whether pucks or ride-mode interfaces are included. Add compatible crampons where your tours require them.

The exact package matters with this model because missing interface parts are system-specific rather than universal accessories.

What changed from the previous season?

Karakoram Straightline appears in the 26/27 range in this configuration. With no reliable change list for a direct predecessor, we assess its system, fit and package without claiming an undocumented redesign.

Which size should you choose?

Available Karakoram Straightline sizes: S, M, L. Use the boot’s real outer length: heel and toe should remain centred, straps should operate in their intended range and the boot must not move laterally in the chassis. When in doubt, measure the boot’s outer length and compare it with the current chart because identical labelled sizes can vary substantially between brands. Our boot and binding compatibility guide explains how boot flex, highback and board stiffness interact.

Have we tested this binding?

We are preparing a new 26/27 review of the Karakoram Straightline. Until it is published, this page provides technical guidance without presenting a test verdict in advance.
