Vrh nad Škrbino
Route Character
A long ascent with a beautiful scenery from the top to Triglav and Bohinjsko jezero.
Starting Point & Village
Starting point: Just under the bottom cable car station the route starts. Village: Bohinjska Bistrica
Ascent & Route
Follow the route that is open for skiing a few times a season - Zagarjev Graben. It ascends gradually and offers you a nice view on the lake. On the first big turn do not go as the road goes but turn a bit right - SE direction. Follow the valley up through the forest that gradualy gets less and less dense. Once you get on the ridge you will see the north wall of Vrh nad Škrbino. Traverse the SE face of Bohinjski Migovec and turn further south towards south. We ascended to a saddle on the east side and then went up the ridge to the top.
One possible ascent is also from the Sirarna Zadnji Vogel. But i will leave that one for another winter :)
Descent & Variants
Follow your ascent route. Be careful not to get to close to the edge above the wall in case of breaking snow.

Map Explanation
- Slope inclinations are a very important criterion in avalanche risk management. However, slope inclination alone should never be the sole criterion!
- The resolution for Austria and South Tyrol is based on a digital terrain model (DTM) with 10m resolution. Outside these areas, accuracy is significantly lower.
- A map can only ever provide a limited view of real conditions.
