Vent Loop 4/5 - Fluchtkogel
Route Character
3rd peak of the Venter circuit as best done with the splitboard. 5 days over 4 peaks and more than 5000m in a beautiful loop through the Ötztal Alps.
The destination of this stage is the Vernagt Lodge at 2755m.
Starting Point & Village
Starting point: Hochjoch Hospiz, accessible directly from Vent or through the first three stages of the Venter loop. Village: Vent
Ascent & Route
From the hut, one climbs up via the summer path to the west to the pumping station, where you leave the summer path and traverse below the summer path to the pit below the glacier. Now you ascend left of the glaciar fall up to the glacier. Continue west past the Brandenburger Haus until you reach the upper Guslarjoch. Now the 150 vertical meters further on to the well visible peak of the Fluchtkogel.
Descent & Variants
Starting from the summit, you follow the ascent track to Guslarjoch. Now you enter Guslarferner to the north-east. First you keep to the left side of the glacier and in the valley you leave until you see the Vernagt hut on the left side of the moraine.
