Lipanski vrh
Route Character
Not a demanding tour, but if you have the time, you can combine it with Brda and Debela Pec.
Starting Point & Village
Starting point: On Pokljuka you should turn right at the Mrzli Studenec (ca 50m after the crossroads for Bohinj - left turn). Go towards pl. (Za)Javornik. Follow the road to a monument of the fallen soliders of NOB. Park there. Village: Pokljuka
Ascent & Route
Pass the monument and go almost north into the forest. Follow the marks for Blejska Koca and Lipanska planina. When you reach the Blejska koca at Lipanska planian turn left (northwest) and follow the ridge that gradually turns right. Be careful not to get to close to the NW edge when on top. NW side is very steep - some climbing routes are there. From Blejska koca you can study the lines on the SE face - if there is enough snow there.
Descent & Variants
If there is enough snow you can choose the SE side to drop to Lipanska planina. You can also use the direction of the ascent. As always: choose wisely.

Map Explanation
- Slope inclinations are a very important criterion in avalanche risk management. However, slope inclination alone should never be the sole criterion!
- The resolution for Austria and South Tyrol is based on a digital terrain model (DTM) with 10m resolution. Outside these areas, accuracy is significantly lower.
- A map can only ever provide a limited view of real conditions.
