Route Character

Tour trail, a classic and neighbor of Zischgeles. For newcomers to the splitboard/ski sports a first conditional challenge. Often, a strip is smoothed like a piste, otherwise much open skiing area.

Starting Point & Village

Starting point: Parking (charge) behind the Alpengasthof Praxmar. Village: St. Sigmund im Sellrain

Ascent & Route

Always follow the caravan, Lampsenspitze is one of the most popular tours in Sellrain and visited accordingly.

The tour trail is a great opportunity to develop and apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

There are many variations on the descent, so, despite the many visitors, there are always good opportunities to draw your own lane.

Ski tourers and splitboarders often meet in the Alpine Inn Praxmar for tour completion.

Descent & Variants

Like ascent, or one of many variants. These are relatively easy to recognize.

Please keep in mind, if your are rookies in splitboard or ski sports, of the avalanche situation, keep an eye on the weather and of course the riding skills of each individual. Use the tour trail to learn more about the subject.

Map Explanation

  • Slope inclinations are a very important criterion in avalanche risk management. However, slope inclination alone should never be the sole criterion!
  • The resolution for Austria and South Tyrol is based on a digital terrain model (DTM) with 10m resolution. Outside these areas, accuracy is significantly lower.
  • A map can only ever provide a limited view of real conditions.
