Route Character
Beautyful backcoutry / splitboard route to get used to your equipment.
Starting Point & Village
Starting point: Parking at Wald, same as going to “Schöpfing”. Village: Wald im Pinzgau
Ascent & Route
From the parking we follow a forest road westwards to a forester's house. Further on a little steeper forest path to the Gspandlalm. Now, through a sparse forest, east of the Höllgraben to a small hunting lodge. From there, a beautiful sight to the Weisseck into the "Höll". To reach the Kempen we keep left rising the moderately steep slope at a slight traverse (good exercise with the splitboard) to the summit.

Map Explanation
- Slope inclinations are a very important criterion in avalanche risk management. However, slope inclination alone should never be the sole criterion!
- The resolution for Austria and South Tyrol is based on a digital terrain model (DTM) with 10m resolution. Outside these areas, accuracy is significantly lower.
- A map can only ever provide a limited view of real conditions.
