Route Character

The highest peak near Svolvaer. Possible to ride from summit to the sea. Also a nice Teepee on the beach to camp there.

Starting Point & Village

Starting point: Park somewhere in Liland aand start skining east. You depart only 2 maybe 3 vertical meters above sea level. Unique! Village: Svolvaer

Ascent & Route

First you ascent on a road through a young birch forest. Later the forest is gone and you can see where to go. You need to go up the valley and then right at a big ice wall. Head up to the saddle above the south gully. Continue and cross the gully to the saddle that is ca 30 vertical meters under the summit. Up the ridge to the summit.

Descent & Variants

Drop down to the last saddle where you can choose to go down the way you came up, down the south gully or down the south east side. The last two options get you to the teepee at the coast. There you need to walk or skin up the road to Liland where you left your car.

Map Explanation

  • Slope inclinations are a very important criterion in avalanche risk management. However, slope inclination alone should never be the sole criterion!
  • The resolution for Austria and South Tyrol is based on a digital terrain model (DTM) with 10m resolution. Outside these areas, accuracy is significantly lower.
