Route Character

Good after-work tour. But also a starting point to the summits in the Garmisch area like Osterfelder-Alpspitz.

Tuesday and Thursday for the Dremöser9 K2 ski tour evening.

Starting Point & Village

Starting point: Hausbergbahn valley station Village: Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Ascent & Route

Ascent follows the well-signposted DAV ski tour route at the edge of the slope. In the evening it is obligatory to wear a headlamp in the ascent, too.

After the first uphill slope, turn right towards Tonihüttte (youth hostel) and follow the slope.  After a steep section in a sharp right-hand bend, the piste widens and you turn left towards Dremöser.

At the K2 hut evening simply follow the crowds.

Descent & Variants

Downhill via the slopes of the Garmisch-Classic.

Night tour to the K2 hut evening: Here the authorized descent is prepared only after the tour evening (from 23 o’ clock) so that no encounters with a snow groomer are to be expected. (but has already happened to us)

Map Explanation

  • Slope inclinations are a very important criterion in avalanche risk management. However, slope inclination alone should never be the sole criterion!
  • The resolution for Austria and South Tyrol is based on a digital terrain model (DTM) with 10m resolution. Outside these areas, accuracy is significantly lower.
  • A map can only ever provide a limited view of real conditions.
