Route Character

Mountain lodge tour as a short variant of the Brauneck ascent.

Starting Point & Village

Starting point: Parking lot at the ski lifts in Wegscheid Village: Lenggries

Ascent & Route

Ascent to the left of the left lift (first ascent usually easily recognizable as groomed). From the end of the first slope over the bridge straight up through the forest. Always follow the touring trails (there are several variants here, all of which lead into the Ahornkessel) up to the free north slope of the Ahorn-Kessel. At Flori-Lift the tour ends and from here you can either go to the Florihütte or to the Ahornkessel to the Kot-Alm for a stop. From the Florihütte, however, a short ascent back to the saddle (mountain station Florilift) is necessary.

Descent & Variants

Descent via the Milchäusl downhill from the Kotalm (as shown in the GPX track) or from the Florilift via the family ski run to Wegscheid.

Map Explanation

  • Slope inclinations are a very important criterion in avalanche risk management. However, slope inclination alone should never be the sole criterion!
  • The resolution for Austria and South Tyrol is based on a digital terrain model (DTM) with 10m resolution. Outside these areas, accuracy is significantly lower.
  • A map can only ever provide a limited view of real conditions.
