Splitboard test events in Europe 2026/27
Want to compare a splitboard’s shape, bindings and touring behaviour on snow rather than in a shop? We checked the published event calendars across Europe. Seven dates currently confirm splitboards as part of their 2026/27 test programme. A further splitboard festival in Norway is announced but does not yet have fixed dates.
Research updated on 20 October 2026. Dates and programmes may change with conditions, so check the linked organiser page before travelling.

Where does the test season start at Pitztal Glacier?
On 7 and 8 November 2026, Splitboards Europe brings its manufacturer-independent test fleet to the Pitztal Glacier Opening. Boards and bindings can be tested free of charge in ride and walk mode; you only need the regular lift pass. The stand is announced at the Gletscherexpress top station.
This early date is useful for comparing binding systems and handling on a compact glacier piste. Deep-snow performance is naturally less predictable at a November opening. Updates are published in the Splitboards Europe camp calendar.
What can you expect at the Hintertux Splitboard Beginner Camp?
The anniversary camp from 20 to 22 November 2026 is designed specifically for beginners. Friday covers equipment setup, Saturday lets you test several boards in both touring and ride mode, and Sunday focuses on alpine hazards, track setting and uphill technique. The organiser lists boards from Burton, Jones, Voilé, Rossignol, Arbor, Amplid, Rome, mr.splitboards, Gara, CAPiTA and Nitro, plus bindings from Spark, Karakoram, Voilé, Union and Plum.
This is the most structured choice if you do not own a setup yet and want to learn transitions, skins, kick turns and safety basics rather than simply taking demo laps. See the Hintertux Glacier event page for booking details.
When can you test splitboards at Pradaschier?
Go Vertical and Korua confirm two dedicated Splitboard Test Weekends at Pradaschier: 12–13 December 2026 and 20–21 February 2027. Korua lists both in its official demo calendar, while Go Vertical also confirms the December weekend in its own event schedule.
Ask the organiser which brands, lengths and binding systems will be available in addition to Korua. Current information is published by Go Vertical and in the Korua demo calendar.
Who should visit the Splitboard Festival at Lake Achensee?
From 22 to 24 January 2027, Pertisau becomes a meeting point for the European splitboard community. The programme includes guided tours for different levels, splitboard workshops, avalanche rescue practice, brand sessions and a test pool containing splitboards, bindings and safety gear. Short test loops near the Karwendel cable car make it easier to compare several shapes in similar conditions.
The festival works for beginners and experienced riders who want to compare brands. A festival ticket is required, and equipment, touring, lift access, accommodation and meals vary by package. Check the official festival website for current packages and programme changes.
What makes the CTM Splitboard Testival different?
CTM runs from 29 to 31 January 2027 at Silvretta-Bielerhöhe. Its base at Berggasthof Piz Buin sits above 2,000 metres. Saturday centres on a large test beside the drag lift, with about 100 splitboards in different shapes and lengths plus several binding systems announced. The short turnaround makes direct A/B comparisons practical.
You can choose a Saturday day pass or join the full beginner or advanced camp. The beginner package follows the test with a guided Sunday tour on your preferred setup. The advanced camp requires your own complete equipment and focuses more on independent touring and community. Check conditions and availability with Splitboards Europe.
What is Beyond The Lifts at Rudolfshütte?
Amplid’s official Test to Believe calendar lists Beyond The Lifts from 5 to 7 March 2027 at Rudolfshütte by Weißsee. The brand describes the weekend, run with Snowborn, as a freeride and splitboard camp. It is therefore a guided camp with demo access rather than an open testival with a very large fleet.
If you specifically want to ride a current Amplid splitboard in touring terrain, this is more relevant than a general piste demo. Confirm the programme, prerequisites and booking through the Amplid event calendar and its linked venue before travelling.
Will the Arctic Splitboard Festival return in Norway in 2027?
Yes. The 2027 Arctic Splitboard Festival in Langfjordbotn, Finnmark, has been announced and registration for updates is open, but the organiser has not yet published the dates. It is a guided Arctic splitboard gathering with professional local guides, level-based touring groups, accommodation and shared meals. It is not presented as a conventional demo event with a freely changing test fleet.
We therefore do not place it in the dated calendar yet. We will update the entry once travel dates and information about demo or rental gear are published. Current status: Arctic Splitboard Festival.
Where can you find more European demos from splitboard brands?
Amplid, Nitro and Korua list many additional public European snowboard demos for 2026/27. Most are general snowboard tests, however, and neither splitboards nor suitable skins and lengths are guaranteed at every stop.
| Country | public 2026/27 demo locations in brand calendars |
|---|---|
| Austria | Kitzsteinhorn, Kaunertal, Hochfügen, St Anton, Nauders, Leogang, Hochkönig, Hochwurzen, Lofer and Stuben |
| Switzerland | Saas-Fee, Lenk, Grindelwald, Laax, Flumserberg, Saanenmöser and Adelboden |
| France | Val Thorens, Chamrousse, Avoriaz and La Clusaz |
| Italy | Cervinia, Madonna di Campiglio, Passo Tonale, San Martino di Castrozza, Bormio, San Pellegrino, Zoncolan, Latemar, Ovindoli, Prato Nevoso and Livigno |
| Poland | Białka Tatrzańska and Czarny Groń |
| Sweden | Sälen and Åre |
Korua also operates appointment-based demo centres in France, Spain, Finland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. These are not events, but may be more useful when you want one specific Korua splitboard.
Before attending one of these demos, ask the brand specifically about the model, length, bindings, skins and reservations. The schedules are updated by Amplid, Nitro and Korua.
How should you prepare for a useful splitboard test?
Bring your own boots and note your weight, boot size, preferred board length and intended terrain. Compare two or three suitable shapes on the same loop instead of riding five unrelated boards. On the climb, pay attention to edge hold, tracking, kick turns and weight. On the descent, float, agility, stability and effort matter more than one spectacular run.
Also check whether bindings, pucks, skins, crampons and avalanche equipment are supplied. A demo event does not replace avalanche education. Tours beyond secured pistes require a complete safety kit, the skills to use it and planning that reflects conditions and group ability.
Which event is the best fit for you?
- Your first day on a splitboard: Hintertux or the CTM beginner camp.
- A free early-season comparison: Pitztal Glacier Opening.
- Comparing many brands and shapes: Achensee or CTM.
- A dedicated Swiss test weekend: Pradaschier.
- Riding Amplid in touring terrain: Beyond The Lifts.
- A guided Arctic community festival: Arctic Splitboard Festival once its dates are fixed.
- Looking for one exact model: reserve it beforehand or ask the organiser about the actual demo fleet.
We will update this guide when organisers publish more confirmed 2026/27 splitboard test events.
