Splitboard Test 2017-18 Editors Selection
Splitboarding Editors Selection 2017/18:

Since the beginning of the year we have taken a closer look at more than 30 splitboards and bindings for you and tried them on different tours. Once again we have awarded the most interesting and outstanding among the large number of good products with the Splitboarding Editors Selection.
What else, apart from our focus on a good all-round performance, was the deciding factor for the choice? This and more you can read in the detailed test reports and you are welcome to add your own experiences, questions and comments.
Combined with your preferred area of use and your special preferences, you will find your personal test winner.

- Riding Performance:Here we evaluate the riding characteristics of the Splitboard models based on the most important factors in splitboarding, agility and edge grip.
- Uphill Performance: The most important thing in the ascent is a good skin for splitboarding (in the test all with a 70/30 Kohla mix skin), good edge grip when traversing, good traction to the front (the board should not turn like a compass needle on the snow, but pull cleanly forward - the forward traction or traction is integrated in the traverse parameter) and a low weight.
- Features: Since splitboards are usually a somewhat larger investment, we also consider the finishing to be very important. Apart from that, if we have our fun in nature, we should also make a contribution to environmental protection. Sustainability is thus also becoming a criterion.
Also new in winter 2017/18 and already tested for you:
- Burton: Dump Truck Split and Flight Attendant Split
- Rossignol: Sushi
- Union: Expedition Bindung and Expedition FC (Fordged Carbon) Binding
Other new releases, interesting updates and fresh designs for splitboards and bindings that we have had already under our feet are listed here:
