The Splitboard Pro is an especially light and compact universal splitboard skin. This page places it in a splitboard touring context: what it is for, where its limits sit and which equipment still belongs in the setup.

What is the Splitboard Pro designed for?

Splitboard skin performance depends on plush, adhesive, trimming and tip-and-tail hardware working together. Strong glue cannot compensate for snow on the adhesive or poor handling during windy transitions, so clean transition technique remains part of the system.

POMOCA specifies 218 grams per skin at 145 × 150 centimetres and combines its Ready2Climb system with a 10-degree Click Lock and elastic tail strap.

The low packed volume helps on long tours. During trimming, keep enough steel edge exposed on both inner edges and maintain an even strip of plush.

What is our editorial assessment?

We have tested all splitboard skins listed in this series. In our comparison, KOHLA skins performed best overall for durability, glide, traction and adhesive behaviour. That does not make every skin equally suitable for every tour: 100 percent mohair can improve glide on long days, while a mohair-nylon blend is usually tougher and more versatile.

For variable and adverse conditions, our clear recommendation is a conventional adhesive skin. In our experience it is less prone to failure than glueless systems when snow, wind and repeated transitions come together.

What is included and what else do you need?

The skin pair or manufacturer-specified set is included. Check whether cutter, bag, separator and tip-and-tail hardware are supplied. Universal skins require careful trimming.

Which information comes from the manufacturer?
