Who is this splitboard binding for?

Burton Step On Split is intended for riders looking for Step On splitboard binding for a quick boot-to-binding connection without conventional straps. Burton Step On Split works only with compatible Burton Step On boots. Choose boot and binding as one system: an overly soft boot reduces control, while a firmer Step On boot supports edge hold and quick power transfer.

How does the system work?

Burton Step On Split uses Burton Step On on a Spark Tesla T1 splitboard platform. With this system, the connection from boot through highback and baseplate to the board determines how much input reaches the edge on traverses and turns.

What is included and what else do you need?

Manufacturer package for Burton Step On Split: a binding pair and the ride/tour hardware specified by the manufacturer
Plan separately: Confirm whether pucks or ride-mode interfaces are included. Add compatible crampons where your tours require them.

The exact package matters with this model because missing interface parts are system-specific rather than universal accessories.

What changed from the previous season?

Burton Step On Split appears in the 26/27 range in this configuration. With no reliable change list for a direct predecessor, we assess its system, fit and package without claiming an undocumented redesign.

Which size should you choose?

Available Burton Step On Split sizes: S, M, L. Use the boot’s real outer length: heel and toe should remain centred, straps should operate in their intended range and the boot must not move laterally in the chassis. Use Burton’s mandatory compatibility chart for the exact boot model and binding size; a similar EU or US size is not a substitute. Our boot and binding compatibility guide explains how boot flex, highback and board stiffness interact.

Have we tested this binding?

We are preparing a new 26/27 review of the Burton Step On Split. Until it is published, this page provides technical guidance without presenting a test verdict in advance.
