Tight trees, an open face and a tracked-out exit on the same tour: the Paragon is Venture’s versatile answer to that mix. Its directional outline leaves room for switch turns and natural features rather than asking you to organise the entire day around one fast line.
Is the Venture Paragon Splitboard 26/27 right for you?
26/27 season guide: the version currently offered by the manufacturer.
Which type of splitboarder does it suit?
Relaxed tourers and playful freeriders. You enjoy the tour and do not want to force every downhill turn. The Paragon is the more approachable idea within Venture’s selection. Occasional switch turns and natural features fit its concept better than a day centred solely on long, fast lines.
What does the shape offer on the descent?
With 25 mm of setback and a manufacturer flex of 6 out of 11, it sits between freestyle playfulness and traditional freeriding. A flat middle with gently raised ends is Venture’s alternative to conventional camber. If you enjoy a pronounced camber-driven rebound through edge changes, try this different profile before buying. Its brief is particularly appealing for fluid turns and an approachable character across more than just soft snow.
What should you consider on the skin track?
Venture emphasises accurately joined halves and Spark Fixie connectors. Those are part of the board, not a complete touring binding. On a firm traverse, edging still depends on board width, boots and binding together. The Paragon range lets you consider width separately from length: there are several steps rather than simply one regular and one wide option.
How do you choose the right size and setup?
The 149 and 153 both have a 24.5 cm waist; the 154 and 158 use 25.5 cm. The 159 and 163 move to 26.5 cm, and the 164 and 168 to 27.5 cm. If a longer board becomes too wide for your boots, moving up another size will not solve it. In Venture’s size labels, length comes first and waist width in centimetres follows.
Venture lists Spark R&D Fixie clips plus mounted tip and tail clips with its splits. That does not include a complete binding or skins. Choose skins for width and suitable nose and tail fittings as well as total length.
A size label combines length and waist width, such as 162-26.5. That is useful when you keep the two numbers separate. After checking the rider-weight range, check boot overhang in your actual binding position. Venture is based in the USA, so confirm shipping and delivered costs for your country even when the regional shop displays euros.
How should boots, bindings and board work together?
A balanced setup with moderate support is a sensible starting point. A relaxed ride does not require boots that collapse sideways. Good heel hold and appropriately supportive highbacks become especially useful when a soft track suddenly turns firm.
The flat middle feels different from pronounced camber. If you are used to that camber-driven pressure, explore the difference on a demo instead of comparing flex numbers alone.

Which test experience helps you choose?
We have not yet tested the Venture Paragon Splitboard ourselves. The advice on this page is based on manufacturer information and the principles in our Gear Guide. We therefore cannot yet describe the feel of this exact board from personal riding experience.
On a demo, we would focus on the points discussed above for your riding style: can your boots put enough pressure on the edge, does the board remain comfortable to move after a longer climb, and does the size work when the snow becomes heavier lower down? Use your usual boots where possible and compare a suitable length.
What has changed since 25/26 and earlier models?
Venture currently offers this standard version without describing a separate technical revision for 26/27. Compare the exact size with any previous-season offer: length and width are closely linked at Venture. Check construction and connectors too. The year alone tells you little about which offer better suits your tours.

Which other current boards fit your riding style?
Compare Venture Storm Splitboard and Venture Odin Splitboard. The shape and usage differences are discussed above. For a demo, similar sizing, your own boots and a familiar stance help more than comparing random available lengths.
FAQ: What should you know before your first tour?
Paragon or Storm for one touring board?
The Paragon is softer on Venture’s scale and has less setback. The Storm puts greater emphasis on freeriding and powder. Start with the Paragon comparison if switch riding and playful changes of direction are frequent parts of your day; this positioning does not replace our own current side-by-side test.
Which Venture Paragon Splitboard size should I choose?
Currently listed sizes are 149-24.5, 153-24.5, 154-25.5, 158-25.5, 159-26.5, 163-26.5, 164-27.5, 168-27.5.
What hands-on test experience is available?
We have not yet tested the Venture Paragon Splitboard ourselves. Our assessment is based on manufacturer information and our Gear Guide. We do not assign our own riding scores to it.
Which current alternatives should I compare?
Venture Storm Splitboard and Venture Odin Splitboard are the relevant comparisons discussed on this page. Choose shape, boot fit and your usual tours first. A different construction level becomes useful after those basics fit.
Which boots and bindings suit this board?
A balanced setup with moderate support is a sensible starting point. A relaxed ride does not require boots that collapse sideways. Good heel hold and appropriately supportive highbacks become especially useful when a soft track suddenly turns firm.
Is this a new construction for 26/27?
A distinct technical 26/27 version is not established by the current manufacturer data. We show the presently offered standard model and identify historical tests separately.
