The Solution Junior brings the Jones touring concept into shorter lengths for young and smaller riders. Choosing the right size means considering rider weight, boot size and a compatible binding setup together, rather than relying on height alone.

Is the Jones Solution Junior Splitboard 26/27 right for you?

The Solution Junior gives younger riders a route into touring with their own equipment. The priority is not getting them onto the same model name as the adults as early as possible. A junior setup has to match weight, strength and boots. A small difference in complete setup weight can account for a much larger share of a lighter rider’s own weight.

The current 137, 142 and 147 cm lengths create different options for young and smaller riders. Do not automatically choose the longest size to grow into. Excess length and width make kick turns and loading the board on the descent harder. Enjoying the ride is a better starting point than trying to maximise the number of years a board might remain in the family.

How does it fit your approach, size and setup?

Before buying, consider board, bindings, boots and skins together. Check that the bindings adjust small enough and that the skin attachment fits the exact length. Also compare Nitro’s Miniganger and Burton’s Hometown Hero Smalls. Their size offerings differ, so fit may settle the shortlist before brand preference becomes particularly relevant.

What have we learned from earlier seasons?

We checked existing model pages and test articles across all archived seasons. We found no earlier original ride test for this exact version. The assessment here explains what its shape and construction are intended for and which alternatives merit comparison. It does not invent days on snow or transfer scores from a neighbouring model.

What has changed since 25/26 and earlier models?

Our archive contains no directly corresponding 25/26 page for this exact model. Its current role and the older or related models discussed above, where available, provide the useful comparison. An earlier board from the same brand does not establish identical construction.

FAQ: What should you know before your first tour?

Can a smaller adult ride the Solution Junior?

Potentially, if rider weight, boot size and bindings fit the model. A short length alone is not enough reason. Compare the stated weight range and usable width with your actual setup.

Which Jones Solution Junior Splitboard size should I choose?

Current listed lengths are 137, 142, 147 cm. Start with the rider-weight range for each length, then check boot width and stance. Frequent kick turns favour manageable equipment; extra length purely for assumed flotation is not a universal solution. Reference points from the table: 137 cm: 90-140 lbs. / 41-63 kg., waist 23.6 cm; 142 cm: 100-150 lbs. / 45-68 kg., waist 24.0 cm. These are manufacturer recommendations, not weight limits established in our tests.

Which other boards should I compare?

Nitro Miniganger Youth Splitboard: Shared first tours with a correctly fitted junior setup. Burton Family Tree Hometown Hero Smalls Splitboard für Kinder: Juniors suited to the single 135 cm length. Choose around your usual tours and an appropriate size rather than favouring a model purely because of its position in the price list.

What original test experience do we have?

We found no earlier original ride test for this exact version in the existing pages. We therefore explain its use and limitations from the construction. Older introductions and tests of other variants are not presented as an original test of this board.

What do I need in addition to the board?

You need a compatible splitboard-binding system, suitable boots and skins matched to the length and attachment points. Where Jones specifies a skin group in the table, use it when selecting skins. Compare complete offers: the board price alone does not tell you what a ready-to-tour setup will cost.

Is an earlier-season version worth considering?

Yes, when model, size and condition suit you. Compare the specific model-history information rather than only the year label. For a used board, inspect the base, edges, inserts and connectors. An earlier test score cannot replace a condition check.

Which sizes and specifications are available?

Sizes: 137, 142, 147 cm. Profile: Freeride CamRock. Manufacturer flex: 7/10.

The table contains manufacturer figures for the specified lengths.
