Splitboard Test 26/27: The 4 Best Splitboards of the Season
Drumroll, please. The skins are dry, the notebooks are full and the ratings are in. Four boards from our splitboard test 26/27 made it right to the top. From today, they carry our Editors Selection.
And congratulations go to … Amplid, Jones, Korua and Nitro!
The Editors Selection is our award for splitboards that convinced us in testing – on the descent, on the climb and as part of a complete setup. Not every tested board receives it, and it does not replace sizing advice. It means: we would happily send you out on a tour with this board, provided it suits your terrain.
The four winners are more different than you might expect: a freestyle tourer, an uncompromising board for the Alps, a short precision tool and an all-rounder for any conditions. Here they are – in alphabetical order, because all four are winners.
Amplid Metamorph 26/27: short, wild, precise
The Metamorph is the most unusual board in the selection – and one of the best on the descent. Despite its short 155 cm length, which pays off on steep skin tracks, it rides incredibly composed and playful, with massive edge hold regardless of conditions.

Korua Elevator Split 26/27: the board for the Alps
The Elevator is right at the front of the pack. It wants to be ridden actively – that is the Korua character we know. With the right pressure on the edge it is superbly stable, both on the descent and on the climb. An ideal board for the Alps. It will not suit everyone, but those who can ride it appreciate it.
