The Stranda Descender is a very interesting and versatile board, especially in terms of construction: It is designed for advanced riders and allows safe ascent and descent in high alpine terrain. The low camber profile (approx. 4mm) provides enough float in deep snow. Additional "power bumps" provide extra edge hold on ascent and descent. They are effective, but mellow enough not to cause edge bite in certain snow conditions (which has been observed with other snowboarding brands). Taper and setback are moderately chosen to make switch landings easy. The wood core of poplar and paulownia with its ash stringers and carbon inlays provides enough pop and low vibration when you go fast. The Descender Split is also available as shorter 152 cm version for woman.
