After sushi comes sashimi. This is a kind of hybrid of the XV and and the Sushi from Rossignol. The Sashimi Split has a softer flex compared to the XV and a longer tail area compared to the Sushi. The Sashimi is also not quite as wide shaped as the Sushi, yet wider than the XV. A kind of volume shift board (more wide than long) of the not quite so extreme variety for the days with a lot of powder.

Like all splitboards from Rossignol, the front area of the split, i.e. between the front binding area and the contact points towards the nose, is tuned harder in terms of flex. The rear area of the splitboard between tail and rear inserts is tuned softer in terms of flex. If you ride over the front foot and shift weight forward, you gain, due to the harder flex, stability at higher speeds. If you shift your weight to the rear, you can let the tail sink nicely into the powder and take out controlled speed. Also the sidecut is shortened by flexing and you come agile around the curve. It should be mentioned that such maneuvers of course only work with sufficient deep snow... Also interesting from the construction: Rossignol builds in the Sashimi split polyurethane strips (so the material from which skateboard wheels are made) between metal edge and wood core to realize better damping properties. To create enough edge hold in the ascent, the strips were omitted in the area between the bindings.
