When untracked snow is the priority, split boards are the simplest solution to getting buried in deep face shots. When Rome Snowboards designed the Whiteroom Split, they had two goals. One was to create a board that floats and surfs effortlessly. The other was to create a board that had power in the tail for slashing with a lot of force. To achieve both they put two rods of carbon in the tail to add pop in two main directions — in line with the board for bigger ollies, and torsionally when the board twists for more power off edge.
