Konvoi Nevado Split 20-21 - Details

Due to a longer pressing time at lower temperatures, the boards have a better material bond down to the macrostructure. Two epoxy resins are used for lamination, which are best suited for the respective purpose. One serves to impregnate the fibre materials and the second guarantees an optimal bonding of the other materials. This plays a particularly important role in the upper chord of the sandwich construction. This is pre-laminated and is only glued to the board during the actual lamination. This avoids unnecessary impregnation of the wooden core with low-viscosity laminating resin and achieves an optimum bond between the wooden core and the upper chord.

The wood core consists of two types of wood. Poplar, sorted by weight, reduces the weight and strategically placed ash wood inlays ensure optimal power transmission and practical strength. In the nose and tail area, the flooring is closed off by a shock protection, which is completely anchored in the construction and thus prevents damage caused by use in these areas, which are particularly fragile in split boards. These purpose-optimized detail solutions are sensibly supplemented by appropriate finishing work, which further minimizes potential damage during use on the mountain.

Excursions in the terrain bring along unpleasant things such as encountering stones or the like. A thicker base increases the lifetime of the board, because there is more potential for repair. However, damage in the edge area is rarely repairable, so three measures were taken to prevent this.

As usual with high quality snowboards, there is a rubber band directly above the edge, this reduces shocks and strengthens the bonding. In Konvoi, this rubber is not as thick as usually about 0.2mm, but 0.7mm, so shocks are directly and significantly reduced before they can penetrate the construction.
Behind the sidewall and also above the edge there is a vertical fiberglass insert and an ash wood stringer. These strengthen the construction in this area, whereby the fiberglass stringer, comparable to the principle of a T-beam, effectively complements the sandwich construction. In addition, these constructive solutions also improve the driving behaviour noticeably and thus it is quickly forgotten that these measures also mean a small extra weigh.

The Nevado from Konvoi is a thoroughly thought-out splitboard :-). So it has not changed due to its excellent performance and popularity. It has already won our Splitboarding Selection and is still one of the best boards on the market. The Nevado is a highly agile, powder-oriented all-rounder - apart from the freestyle performance. A splitboard whose development took all known weaknesses in terms of durability and performance of the existing boards and removed them as far as possible.
It is made for all ambitious splitboarders who set value on quality and durability and those who want to cruise comfortably and who want to really charge hard. With the slightly hinted swallowtail and the wider nose it has best float. The profile is optimized for splitboarding, which provides very good edge hold on ascents without compromising performance. The only compromise ist the waxing, due to it's channels but you get used to it quickly.

Discover the feeling of floating effortlessly in fresh and deep snow. Enjoy a little more edge grip, on slopes or in rough terrain. Otherwise, just celebrate the white stuff in every possible way. Try how far you "butter", ride the waves like waves, draw straight lines in the snow, or get a taste of air with wide kickers. All this with full control and of course a safe feeling.
