For some time short powderfish boards are in vogue and Jones Snowboards offers a split version of its Storm Chaser solid this season. The board itself is heavily board surf inspired and was designed by Chris Christenson who is one of the most diverse surf shapers in the world and makes everything from contest boards to longboards and record breaking big wave guns. A blunt nose helps the floatation in deep pow so you can go pretty fast despite its short size. A rocker profile and swallowtail makes it the ideal choice for surfing frozen waves and plowing through deep pow. Thanks to the wavy fries edges (also called Magne Traction in snowboard lingo) on the outside and inside you always have enough edge hold during ascent and descent. The Surf Rocker profile pops the nose even further out and tight tree runs can be taken pretty quick. The Storm Chaser Split features a new Boltless Bridge which eliminates base hardware and Karakoram Ultra Clips for improved connection between board halves.
