Amplid Tour Operator 26-27 - Details

The Amplid Tour Operator 26/27 is built for splitboarders who ride from the first flurries to the last thaws — and want one board that handles everything in between. With a Tapered Twin shape and Cruise Camber profile, the Tour Operator delivers consistent performance across variable terrain: stable on long skin tracks, playful on open slopes, and composed in variable conditions on the way down.

The Knuckle Sandwich Construction is Amplid’s proven sandwich build — reliable, durable, and tuned for the demands of backcountry splitboarding. Zero 90 Carbon rovings running at 90° across the board improve edge grip and torsional stiffness without adding unnecessary weight. Bézier Curves optimize the sidecut and nose geometry for a smooth, harmonious flex pattern across all five sizes.

For 26/27, the Tour Operator enters the Knuckle Sandwich family with a full upgrade in features: Basalt Suspension Strips for vibration damping, Bolted Tip Clips and Skin Holes for clean skin attachment, a factory Split Tune, Thick Cut edges for superior grip on hardpack, and a Lite Core for optimized weight distribution. The Stratospheric Topsheet and Shred Ready Sintered Base round out a board that is ready to perform straight from the bag.

Tech Features

Knuckle Sandwich Construction
Amplid's tried-and-tested sandwich board construction: consistent flex, superior durability, and reliable performance in demanding mountain conditions season after season.

Lite Core
A selectively profiled lightweight wood core that delivers the ideal mix of responsiveness and damping without unnecessary weight penalty.

Zero 90 Carbon
Carbon rovings integrated at 90° across the board improve edge grip and torsional stiffness while reducing weight compared to glass-only laminates. Precision, stability and unmatched power transfer.

Bézier Curves
Standard radii replaced with Bézier curves in the sidecut and nose design, allowing precise calculation of the flex curve for the most harmonious ride possible.

Basalt Suspension Strips
Basalt fiber strips running along the board act as a suspension system, damping vibrations and chatter for a smoother, quieter ride over variable snow conditions.

Bolted Tip Clips
Stainless steel tip clips bolted directly into the board tip — mechanically fixed so they never pop off or delaminate.

Floatation Tips
Extended tip geometry for improved float in deep powder conditions.

Thick Cut
Oversized steel edges for superior grip on hardpack and ice — the variable conditions you encounter every day in the backcountry.

Impact Pads
Multidirectional glass pads in the binding area protect against dings from metal splitboard binding bases.

Shred Ready Sintered Base
Amplid's factory-tuned sintered base: race-prepped from day one — fast, durable, and ready to shred straight out of the bag.

Skin Holes
Pre-punched holes at the tip for attaching climbing skins directly to the board — no tip loop required.

Stratospheric Topsheet
A stratospheric topsheet coating that protects the board and sheds snow effectively while minimizing weight.

Split Tune
Each board half is factory-tuned with a board-specific edge bevel and base structure, ready to ride straight out of the bag.

What’s new in 26/27

Changes compared to the 25/26 model:

  • Flex 6 for all sizes — previously 5 for the smaller sizes 148 and 153, now a uniform 6
  • Cruise Camber now clearly defined (previously listed as “Hybrid”)
  • Rider weight ranges updated: 148 cm: 45–65 kg (was 45–70), 153 cm: 55–80 kg (was 50–75), 156 cm: 60–85 kg (was 55–80)
  • Thick Cut new — oversized steel edges for superior grip on hardpack
  • Stratospheric Topsheet and Shred Ready Sintered Base upgrade the previous sintered base
  • Floatation Tips and Skin Holes new
  • Knuckle Sandwich Construction now explicitly listed as the primary construction method

FAQ

Can I ride it on-piste? Yes. It is a bit heavier than a solid board, but it rides well on-piste.

Do I need special boots for splitboarding? No. Regular snowboard boots work, but splitboard/touring boots offer better uphill support, walk mode and edging on traverses.

Which binding fits best? Check our bindings overview for compatible options: https://www.splitboarding.eu/en/bindings
