Amplid Metamorph 26-27 - Details
The Amplid Metamorph 26/27 is the board for riders who seek out technical lines and demanding alpine terrain. Compact at 155 cm and stiff at flex 7, it prioritizes precision and edge control over float — the kind of board that rewards commitment on steep, consequential runs.
Built on a BBP Core wrapped in a Full Carbon Jacket, the Metamorph sits at the top of Amplid’s Featherlight category. At around 2.9 kg it is a light touring companion, but the Traction Camber profile and stiffer flex mean it is equally at home charging down technical couloirs as skinning long ridgelines. The waist at 258 mm and 19.2 m sidecut radius deliver the edge hold and precision required for hard snow and exposed terrain.
For 26/27, the Metamorph gains the full Featherlight feature suite: Bolted Tip Clips, pre-punched Skin Holes, a factory Split Tune, and HEXO2 Techno-Gummy Walls for reduced swing weight and improved damping. The Stratospheric Nano Coating Topsheet keeps the weight down while protecting the carbon laminate.
Tech Features
BBP Core
Amplid's Baltic Birch Poplar core combines the responsiveness of birch with the flex consistency of poplar — lightweight, durable, and precisely profiled for splitboard touring.
Full Carbon Jacket
Amplid's most demanding fiber laminate. Carbon's unbeatable tensile strength-to-weight ratio allows ultra-thin laminates to achieve the same flex profile as heavier constructions. The result is a responsive, energized feel unique to full carbon layups.
HEXO2 Techno-Gummy Walls
HEXO2 technology replaces heavier wood at the tips with featherlight honeycomb to practically eliminate swing weight. Combined with vibration-damping rubber sidewalls, the board stays composed on hard, chattery snow.
Bézier Curves
Standard radii replaced with Bézier curves in the sidecut and nose design, allowing precise calculation of the flex curve for the most harmonious ride possible.
Bolted Tip Clips
Stainless steel tip clips bolted directly into the board tip — mechanically fixed so they never pop off or delaminate.
Floatation Tips
Extended tip geometry for improved float in deep powder conditions.
Stratospheric Nano Coating Topsheet
An ultra-thin stratospheric nano coating replaces a conventional topsheet, offering superior protection and improved snow-shedding at 50% less weight.
Impact Pads
Multidirectional glass pads in the binding area protect against dings from metal splitboard binding bases, adding durability with minimal weight.
Sintered Base
Amplid's ultra-high density sintered base: fast in all conditions, highly resistant to damage.
Skin Holes
Pre-punched holes at the tip for attaching climbing skins directly to the board — no tip loop required.
Split Tune
Each board half is factory-tuned with a board-specific edge bevel and base structure, ready to ride straight out of the bag.

What’s new in 26/27
Changes compared to the 25/26 model:
- BBP Core now explicitly listed in the feature set
- HEXO2 Techno-Gummy Walls replaces HEXO2 Technology — upgrade adds rubber sidewalls for better vibration damping
- Stratospheric Nano Coating Topsheet replaces the previous Nano Coating
- Bolted Tip Clips, Floatation Tips, Skin Holes and Split Tune now in the feature set
- Dimensions, shape (Tapered Directional), camber (Traction Camber) and flex 7 remain unchanged
FAQ
Can I ride it on-piste? Yes. It is a bit heavier than a solid board, but it rides well on-piste.
Do I need special boots for splitboarding? No. Regular snowboard boots work, but splitboard/touring boots offer better uphill support, walk mode and edging on traverses.
