Test Results

Stranda is relatively new on the market and has already released a splitboard for the big and strong guys. With the 164 Shorty the range will be extended this year and also smaller splitboarders get the opportunity to have fun with these special boards. Very soft in the nose, the Stranda Shorty surfs over everything that gets in its way. In the untracked white it swims excellently and is a lot of fun. The soft, surfy nose is also noticeable when the powder is ripped to pieces or the snow is pressed by the wind and you ride over all bumps. If hard edges are required, the camber under your feet and the hard tail give you very good grip.

In the ascent the soft nose is noticeable and brings slight point deduction. But the board comes out well, as well as on the descent, without " bending". If it is hard, some practice is required, but after a short acclimatization you will also find the points on the Stranda Shorty on which it holds. For the splitboarders who like to ride pillows, cliffs or other obstacles, the Shorty offers a lot of safety. After small to medium drops or jumps in the terrain (we haven't tested big ones) you land super easy. If you have the opportunity, you should definitely try the Shorty 164.
