Splitboard Test Results

Regarding to the last season, no changes have been made, so we could not give a selection this year. But anyway the Rossi Mag Tek Split 17-18 is one of the best boards in the market - new length 164W. If you take it as set it comes with a super cool Plum Ross Colab Binding and great straps. The Rossignol Mag Tek Split is superagile and rides through everything you can imagine, but it`s abilities are even bigger. Stability at the ascent, massive float in pow and strong edgegrip in crust or windblown snow on the descent. The Rossignol XV wants to be ridden fast with power in your feet. Due to its stiffer nose it keeps calm at highspeed and the softer tail makes it surfy in narrow couloirs or treeruns.

Product description

The XV is a versatile and floaty split. The AmpTek All-Mountain combines traditional camber between the feet with moderate tip and tail rocker for increased stability.

Magne-Traction 7M delivers continuous tip-to-tail edge hold, enhancing control in the gnarliest conditions. A bit softer in the tail, the XV surfes through the most challenging snow conditions and a bit stiffer at the nose makes it stable as well, maintaining massive edge control. With a nimble, washier tail for maneuvering tight spots.

The THC² CBF², makes the XV Split flow smoothly from edge-to-edge while delivering enhanced power due to the inner sidewalls and steel edges. So the XV Mag Tek Split supports Xavier pushing the boundaries of big-mountain splitboarding.

It is fully equipped with Voilé's universal interface, skins and crampons and costs as set 949,95€ (also available naked).

It is available in the lengths of 167cm, 163, 164W and 159cm.

Technical Details

  • The hybrid construction (rocker infused with camber) between the feet brings great float and playfulness combined with pop and stability.

AmpTek is a pat-pending technology that comes in 3 versions where the camber and rocker height and length vary to better fit the needs of all riding styles.

    AmpTek All-Mountain stands for:

    • 60% Rocker and 40% Camber
    • [Rossignol XV Split Features]
    • More Control More Stability
    • More Edge Pressure
    • Smoother Landings
    • Very Nimble in Powder
    • Softer Tips/Stiffer Waisttorsion

In the Xavier de Le Rue Split there is also used Basalt and Aramid, to reduce weight and vibrations and to enhance the internal power of the board.
