When Rome Snowboards designed the Whiteroom Split, they had two goals. One was to create a board that floats and surfs effortlessly. The other was to create a board that had power in the tail for slashing with a lot of force. To achieve both they put two rods of carbon in the tail to add pop in two main directions — in line with the board for bigger ollies, and torsionally when the board twists for more power off edge. New this season 2017-18: Rome integrated the new Karakoram Ulraclips, hence no bolting on the base.
