Test Results

The Korua Escalator Splitboard is your "partner in stoke" and convinces in every aspect.

Ascent: The Korua Escalator is at the forefront regarding its ascent performance. We felt very safe and no slipping, even in the steepest part of our test section, was noticeable. The Escalator is one of the lightweights and one of the more expensive splitboards. Balance point of the Escalator Split is relatively far in front, which makes kickturns easier in steeper terrain. Compared to the Café Racer, being already a very good splitboard, Korua has even topped it, in our eyes.

Descent: Hmm, what can I say, look at Nicholas Wolken and you see: Yes, this thing can carve and it does it pretty well - or is it the rider? Both!!! We also found the Korua Escalator pretty easy to carve properly, although not as extreme as Nicholas. But not only that, it is also very maneuverable and for a "carbon plank" pretty well tuned. Compared to the Café Racer it is a more classic board, you just stand on it and don't have to tune in. The Escalator is like " just hop on and there you go"!

Description

The Korua Escalator combines the strengths of the Tranny Finder and Café Racer to a great splitboard with a wide range of use. Whether in powder or on old pressed snow, the Escalator Split Plus is designed for a power-saving ascent in alpine terrain without compromising downhill performance. This extremely light splitboard wants to be taken on long adventures deep into the backcountry.
The board has a directional, slightly tapered shape, setback and a float camber profile to provide massive lift. Two extra edges on the inside provide perfect grip when climbing and crossing icy passages. This board is compatible with all common splitboard bindings.
