Test Results

Ultra-light, it plays in the same league as other boards of this price and weight class. However, it takes some time getting used to. At the first descents we were not sure if it was the board or it was because of us. How do you get the edge into the snow, why doesn't it pop out of the carve? After a few descents we felt the caffeine boost and yes, the board can do it. Weight relatively central, shifted a little bit to the front foot, and, if necessary, a little bit more pressed on the tail (similar to the motorcycles; -)) and off you go. The Café Racer Splitboard remains stable and you can trust it, both at high speed and when pulling cozy turns. The short length and the small radius make it very maneuverable. The solid camber and the hard tail let you take the swing with you, whereas the slightly fluttering nose lets you glide over many bumps. Since it is relatively narrow and with 156cm also quite short, it requires a certain basic speed in powder to swim above optimally. It can also keep up with the established brands in terms of ascent performance. Cleanly it pulls its mark upwards and even where snow gets harder, it has a solid grip. It is very well balanced and can be easily turned with a kickturn. The forward pull is also clean, so efficient splitboarding is possible even on long and demanding tours.
