The Explorer Split is the All-Mountain board from the Jones board lineup. It is perfectly balanced for freestyle, freeride or just doing some backcountry laps. The floaty, freeride nose is matched with a freestyle tail.
Jones Explorer Split 17-18
Ascent: Despite the soft flex the Jones Explorer has a solid uphill performance.
Descent: It better breaks through hard snow and provides good edgehold. Much more agile since the 16-17 version. Still, the splitboard behaves less aggressive than for example the Solution and is more forgiving on any kind of terrain. It can be recommended for advanced beginners.
The Explorer Split is the All-Mountain board from the Jones board lineup. It is perfectly balanced for freestyle, freeride or just doing some backcountry laps. The floaty, freeride nose is matched with a freestyle tail. A hybrid rocker-camber flex pattern is defined by more tip rocker then tail rocker and camber between the bindings. Directional Rocker makes it easy to butter or stomp and the wavy fries edges (also called Magne Traction in snowboard lingo) provides confident stability riding through tech terrain or unexpectedly rough snow conditions. On the skin track back up, the inner edge Magne Traction adds serious grip.
The board has a fast Sintered 7000 base and is factory waxed. No changes in construction in this season.
