Test Results

Ascent:  With a classic camber profile and the modest rocker-nose it goes uphill, as it should be. The center of gravity is well chosen and kick turns are easy to accomplish.

Descent: Our first impression was: Capita - that are the guys and gals that produce freestyle boards and also these fun powder / slush boards with the crazy shapes. But can they do splitboards as well? We hit the mountain with the neo slasher under our feet. Off we go, always preasure on the feet, more pressure but as soon as you sligthly release the pressure off goes that edge. This phenomenon can be repeated as often as you like. So as long as you keep enough pressure on the edge you are fine and have to adapt your riding style for a clean ride. What we can say, the Neo Slasher is really fun to ride and you can go full speed after the first meters without beeing scared. We are amazed about the playfulness of this board, little spins, switch all go easy whithout a problem. We would say Capita was doing an excellent job with their first split. With 3200 grams it plows through hard pack and vibrations at the boards nose are kept to a minimum. In powder the Neo Slasher floats well with it's hybrid camber profile. Small drawback: nose and tail clips opens up unexpectedly several times during the ride down.

Snowconditions at the tests: from 20-30 cm of powder to hardpack and slopes
Bindings used for testing: Union Expedition
Boots: Deeluxe and Fitwell

We are very positively surprised with Capita's first launch of a splitboard - environmentally friendly produced and with high-performance characteristics.

Description

After their successful Spring-Break series - these fun to ride boards with their crazy shapes - Capita reaches the second round with the Neo Slasher Splitboard. Design is based on Capita's Powder Board, the Charlie Slasher. Nose and tail area were made stiffer and profile changed from flat to camber under foot to help you going up.  The board has a perfectly balanced flex pattern, feels playful and gives you a lot of fun on the mountain. Clips and hooks come from Union. Design for the upcoming 2018-19 season has changed (wit this seasons topic space exploration), construction & specs remain constant compared to last season.
