Test Results

In powder it is almost unbeatable, extremely agile and makes enormous fun. Meanwhile we also had the opportunity to take the Millisurf under our feet under optimal conditions. Our enthusiasm continues, but the Milligram is even more versatile and our favourite.

The big shovel lets you swim up even on the deepest days, the tail sinks and you get a pleasant, surfing feeling on the descent.
In the ascent the relatively wide nose swims up top, the millisurf is excellently balanced and the kickurns go by themselves, even through the short tail. With traverses the edge holds quite well - better than with the former Morning Split, nevertheless it is always good to have the crampons with you.

The edge holds, even if it goes hard to the point. With the Millisurf you can move in all regions that allow you your splitboarding level - the board can do more!

Amplid Millisurf - once you've enjoyed the benefits of the shockingly light milligram construction, you won't want to go back to heavier boards anymore. Therefore, with the Millisurf, there is now another ultra-light splitboard for all those who want to experience materials and technologies for highest performance in a more surf-oriented shape.

Carbon inlays, the BBP core and a special synthetic resin with an extremely low viscosity are the holy trinity of splitboard construction. Due to the weight reduction the ascent is easier than ever before, the shape of the Surfari with its tapered swallow tail and the unique 3-dimensional crust-butter nose provides first-class powder power on the descent.

Thanks to an innovative way of thinking, Amplid produces extremely hard-wearing products. Tanga Tech, Glass Impact Pads and Powder Ponton are three cleverly placed inlays that tackle typical problems of light carbon splitboards. Chips, expanding cracks and load fractures are foreign words for the Millisurf.

Amplid Millisurf Splitboard

BBP Core

The lightest wood core money can buy. Weightless Paulownia and Balsa are carefully arranged with stronger Birch to save valuable grams without sacrificing strength.

Full Carbon Jacket

Amplid’s Full Carbon Jacket is the most expensive fiber laminate in Amplid’s arsenal. Carbon’s tensile strength to weight ratio is unbeatable, it allows the use of thinner, almost weightless laminates to achieve the same flex profile. Its responsive and energized feel is unique.

Floatation Tips

Ultra wide, low rising tips that exist purely to create lift in powder without sucking-up speed. They add a surfy feel to skis and snowboards.

Sintered 7HD Base

A premium sintered plastic which readily absorbs wax and will out-run your riding buddies’ bases without breaking a sweat. You better get used to waiting.

Split Tune

We lightly round the edges at the tip and tail, outside of the effective edge. Blunting these edges reduces chipping to the topsheet during skinning.

Bolted Tip Clips

Using threaded bolts instead of rivets allows broken tip clips to be easily replaced, on the hill, without the need for a workshop full of tools.

Powder Pontoon

Spanning a snow hole with one split ski at full stride can snap it clean in two. Extra unidirectional carbon stringers along the underside of the core increases bending stiffness, reducing “dishing” in deep snow and increasing breaking resistance.

Replacing a conventional tophseet on Amplid’s carbon touring equipment, Nano Film is an ultra-thin polyamide coating that offers great protection and improved snow-shedding properties with 50% less weight.

Tough, pre-cured composite impact plates placed beneath bindings and touring hardware significantly reduce the risk of topsheet dings and breakages.

Forged aluminium board hooks, designed in-house by Amplid’s R&D team, offer a dependable, but weightless connection between board halves and have a slick matt black aesthetic.
