Amplid Milligram 18-19
The Amplid Milligram has been optimized slightly and got further optimized for Pow-Riding and the Ascent. It got a bit stiffer but is still soft for beeing a Carbon Splitboard, the Milligram is quite soft, but the excellent tuning makes it your best buddy for all kinds of backcountry adventures. Most of all the Milligram likes it at high altitude, long distances and challenging terrain, because here its lightness plays the most important role. It is one of the most versatile splitboards in the market.
Ascent: You feel the light weight. With the camber and an early rise rocker (Dir. Cruise Camber) it floats up beautifully even in deep powder. At hard traverses you hike like on rails (of course depending on boots, binding and your skills).
Descent: The Miligram is the only Splitboard which riding performance is really comparebale to a Snowboard. Mainly it is due to its low weight but also due to its amazing shape. In powder the nose comes up easily and you get an amazing surf feeling. When the conditions become harder the edgehold is there, no doubt you can rely on the Milligram even when it is soft and your speed is high. When you find completly tracked hardpack with deep furrows it is a bit more tricky than with a heavier splitboard. As the name claims, "Amplid next level riding", yes with the Milligram you reach the next level of splitboarding.
The Milligram long-term test
Even after two years of hard work (the board was not only under our own feet, but also with riders who would like to try it), our "old" Milligram is still in good shape. Yes, it has softened and has already caught one or the other reef. The pop has also lessened somewhat, but nevertheless it can still play in the first league after almost 100,000 vertical meters. The topsheet is already a bit scrubbed off, but because of the decent design it is not very noticeable. Let's see how long we can still have our joy with it.
Since last season, the sensitive areas of nose and tail have been specially protected against abrasion and the impact pads in the binding area protect the topsheet from damage caused by the partial sharp-edged splitboard bindings.

Every trick in the book is used to keep this weight-weenie as light and as durable as possible. Carbon fiber, which has an unbelievable stiffness to weight ratio, replace conventional fiberglass. Our secret recipe BBP core not only cuts weight, but helps to damp carbon’s nervous character. Tanga Tech reduces chipping and slashes 250g of unnecessary weight.
New Powder Pontoon, a band of UD carbon running from tip-to-tail along each board half, and additional reinforcement beneath the climbing wires increase spanning-strength reducing the risk of a dreaded snowhole snap. Amplid’s split-specific edge tune and Karakoram’s new UltraClips round-off the improvements.

The lightest wood core money can buy. Weightless Paulownia and Balsa are carefully arranged with stronger Birch to save valuable grams without sacrificing strength.
Full Carbon Jacket
Amplid’s Full Carbon Jacket is the most expensive fiber laminate in Amplid’s arsenal. Carbon’s tensile strength to weight ratio is unbeatable, it allows the use of thinner, almost weightless laminates to achieve the same flex profile. Its responsive and energized feel is unique.
Ultra wide, low rising tips that exist purely to create lift in powder without sucking-up speed. They add a surfy feel to skis and snowboards.
Sintered 7HD Base
A premium sintered plastic which readily absorbs wax and will out-run your riding buddies’ bases without breaking a sweat. You better get used to waiting.
We lightly round the edges at the tip and tail, outside of the effective edge. Blunting these edges reduces chipping to the topsheet during skinning.
Bolted Tip Clips
Using threaded bolts instead of rivets allows broken tip clips to be easily replaced, on the hill, without the need for a workshop full of tools.
Spanning a snow hole with one split ski at full stride can snap it clean in two. Extra unidirectional carbon stringers along the underside of the core increases bending stiffness, reducing “dishing” in deep snow and increasing breaking resistance.
Replacing a conventional tophseet on Amplid’s carbon touring equipment, Nano Film is an ultra-thin polyamide coating that offers great protection and improved snow-shedding properties with 50% less weight.
PRE-CURED IMPACT PLATES
Tough, pre-cured composite impact plates placed beneath bindings and touring hardware significantly reduce the risk of topsheet dings and breakages.
Forged aluminium board hooks, designed in-house by Amplid’s R&D team, offer a dependable, but weightless connection between board halves and have a slick matt black aesthetic.
