Splitboard Test Results

The Vaude ABScond 36+4 L is an excellent toploader, with enough space for touring equipment and dslr camera. It is perfectly suitable for advanced touring with sleepingbag,  more day touring or longer day tours.

The side entry makes it super easy to reach all your stuff quickly

Super simple and robust, I think that this ABS Cordura Backpack gives you fun and safety for a long time.

Comfort:

Du to the completely adjustable carrying system you can fit the Vaude ABScond perfectly to your body, reaching an amazing comfort.

I can compare this pack to two different ones from well know brands and I am very happy that I decided to get the Vaude ABScond. With distance, it is the most comfortable - great for long touring and more day trips.

The weight is based perfectly on your hips, so your shoulders are discharged. Two special straps at the top of the carrying system make it possible to adjust the distance of the backpack to your back, so you can choose comfort and great climatisation for a smooth ascent and tight fit for action.

Features:

Safety-Pocket: The Safety Pocket is big enough to store al the required material ( Shovel and Probe) as well as further material like a small first aid kit, skins, crampones, bivibag and an ultralight harness. So the main storage is free to handle the other equipment easily, keeping everything well in order.

Boardfixation: There are two possibilities to fix your board at the Backpack. Diagonal (the boardhalfs), or the board mounted directly at the back. The Straps are well designed, super easy to use and very simple to reach great performance in the backcountry.

Iceaxe-Garage and Poles-Holder: Quick and easy to use, well stored and safe.

On the left side you have a strap to fix carabiners, ice screws and other important mountaineering stuff. So you have further advantages for high altitude touring or glacier action.

The price of 650€ without cartridge is a bit higher, but the Vaude ABScond is absolutely worth it`s price.

Summary
