Municipality: Vent

More challenging route on the Wildspitze peak from Vent.
Can be made from the valley or with lift support by the Vent chairlift. From the valley, however, it's some tough 1900m, the 1200m with chairlift support are not quite so boring and even in spring without long carrying passages possible.

Route description
Starting point:

Chair lift Vent

If you start without lift assistance, you go from the chairlift to the ski slope until just below the summit station, where the summer path branches off towards Breslauer Hütte. Or alternatively choose the summer trail through the Rofenbach valley to the Breslau lodge.

From the Breslau lodge, one ascends further north-west traversing the western slope in the direction of Mitterkar Ferner up to the glacier. Soon the Mitterkarjoch 3470m is visible in the north. Depending on the snow conditions, it is necessary to use crampons and follow the via ferrata over the pass.

Above the Joch pass you go along the glacier to the north-east and climb up to the summit slope of the Wildspitze after passing between the rocks. Below the summit on the west flank, a ski depot is built and the rest of the mountain is climbed up to the summit with crampons.

If you are absolutely sure and have seen the descent over the western slope in the ascent, you can take the board to the summit.

Descent from the ski depot along the ascent route. Over the Mitterkarjoch again with crampons or at best conditions one can ride down.
Follow the ascent track to the Breslau lodge and cross back to the Vent ski area.

Ride down the western slope from the summit, slightly down to the north and then over the western slope to Mitterkarjoch.

    Comment / Trip report:

Es hat mich beim diesjährigen wildspitze Besuch etwas geschockt wie schlecht der Zustand des Gletscher ist. So wohl am Gipfel Hang als auch an der taschachtal wand.
