Route description
Starting point:

Paid Parking place at the Gasthof Waldesruh.

Ascent:

From the car park on the left or on the road a bit to the north to the Waldbauer and then turn right on the forest path towards Kastnerbergalm 1734m. Most of the time it is possible to turn left uphill in front of the alpine pasture through the lighter forest until you reach the forest path again. Towards the northwest you soon reach a gentle high valley and have a good view of the further ascent area to the Muttenjoch, which is easily reached.
From the Joch now significantly steeper, a short section even very steep up the round head of the Muttenkopf. The eastern slope is often blown off or blown in, CAUTION: danger of slab avalanche before and during the steep section.
In case of unfavourable conditions it is better to leave it at Muttenjoch (2398m), the view to the Tribulaune is of course more favourable from the summit.

Descent:

Along the ascent track, the most beautiful ski area in the high valley, in any case it is important to make sure that you turn eastwards in good time.

If the conditions are perfect and very safe, it may be possible to ride from the summit into the southern slope, here too you have to head eastwards early enough into the high valley and in the direction of the forest path to the Kastnerbergalm.
