Splitboard boots are an important part of the splitboard equipment. They influence the power transmission to the board and its reaction speed.
A distinction is made between soft boots and hard boots. For splitting we use boots that combine the advantages of both types and give us the necessary freedom of movement to hike and at the same time support and pressure on the descent.
Some snowboarders use hardboots for splitboarding. This increases the pressure on the edge, especially when traversing. Hard boots can also be advantageous in extreme high alpine use, for example when making steps.
However, in order to maintain the loved "surfing feeling" on the descent, we recommend hard snowboard boots with alpine characteristics such as a grippy sole, crampon suitability, not too bulky dimensions, of course light weight, good insulation and breathability and above all: perfect, personal fit.
