Riding Style Rome Double AgentRiding Style Rome Double Agent 154:

We rated the Rome Double Agent 154 as a very freestyle oriented splitboard. Due to the short length, it has clear advantages in backcountry freestyle.

Of course, it can also be used for allmountain riding. Here in extremely narrow passages, a short, power charged Splitboard brings benefits. The overall width gives this board good boost in Powder.

Riding Performance: Here we evaluate the handling characteristics of the splitboard models based on the most important factors in splitboarding.

Agility:  The Double Agent is extremly quick turning, this is reinforced by the slight rocker. Also, the "flat section" between the bindings supports maneuverability.

Flex: The Double Agent is provided with a rather harder flex which facilitates aggressive riding and also big airs can be sticked easily.

Edge grip: For a board of this length, the Double Agent Split has very strong edge hold. On hard slopes or even on ice it can be ridden well. This means that you can rely on your board in challenging terrain, assuming your skills fit.

All Conditions Riding: For such a short board, it has excellent flotation in powder due to its general width. The combination of shape, flex and edge length, make it rideble in hardpack as well as on soft ice.

Hiking Performance: The most important thing in ascending with a splitboard are a good skins (which we have not tested here), good edge grip on crossings and light weight. Anyway the weight of a bit heavier board can be reduced e.g. in excellent packing of your backpack.

Edge grip traversing: Ascending with the Double Agent surprised us. The kick turns are easy by the short length and the edge hold is fine.

Weight: With 3.3 kg the Double Agent is one of the lighter board in the test, clearly due to the short length, but also by the lightweight construction. Despite the performance is right in its style.

Features: Since Splitboards are a slightly larger investment, we also consider the finishing as important. Besides, if we are having fun in nature we should also contribute to environmental protection. Thus, the sustainability is a criterion.

Finishing: The Double Agent has small aluprotectores at the tip and tail.

Sustainability: The classic Rome Double Agent, delivers what it promises.

Riders Statement (70 kg):

"Surprisingly, the Double Agent 154 is a very freestyle oriented splitboard. Short, quick turning  and enough float in powder. During the ascent you can count on the edges."

Riding Performance: Here we evaluate the handling characteristics of the splitboard models based on the most important factors in splitboarding.

Agility:  Powder Room is a surprisingly fast turning and agile splitboard. In addition its floating features are excellent. This board really obeys the wishes of the rider!

Flex: The Powder Room is not only an agile but also a steady board. Its endurance in high speed is great.

Edge grip: Naturally a splitboard doesn’t offer the best possible performance on a hard and icy slop, and it doesn’t even have to as it is a powder board. On normal snowy slope conditions Powder Room does its job very well.

All Conditions Riding: In powder the Powder Room is at its best. However, the board is very comfortable to ride in varying conditions.

Hiking Performance: The most important thing in ascending with a splitboard are a good skins (which we have not tested here), good edge grip on crossings and light weight.

Edge grip traversing:  The edge hold is good in ascents.

Weight: Weight is one of the advantages of Powder Room. Weighing only 2,9 kg makes it very light and easy going in ascent.

Features: Since Splitboards are a slightly larger investment, we also consider the finishing as important. Besides, if we are having fun in nature we should also contribute to environmental protection. Thus, the sustainability is a criterion.

Finishing: Like The Double Agent, Powder Room has also small aluminum protectors on tip and tail. The finishing is some good quality work.

Sustainability: High quality can be always considered as sustainable

Riders Statement (60 kg):

"As I have used to ride slightly longer boards on and off piste, I was greatly surprised about the endurance of 153 cm Rome SDS Powder Room. It floats absolutely great and is in addition very agile, fast turning and sensitive. Rome Powder Room 153 has big board qualities in a small package. Perfect for girls / women."
