The south face is a good freeride terrain if stabe. The forest is not too dense so you can do some speed turns among the trees.

How to get there:

Use the highway A10 and use the Flachauwinkel exit. Turn south towards Talschluß. Parking is made at the starting point where you turn right on a forest road and there is a gate ramp.

Route description
Starting point:

Go pass the gate ramp and follow the road. You cross a stream and follow it into the valley.

Ascent:

Soon the valley widens and the righthand slope has no trees, there you turn right. There is a hut at about half point - it is a nice place to rest for a few minutes. You can follow the road through the forest or you can make a steeper ascent towards the ridge. Once you reach the ridge you turn north and follow the ridge to the top of Benzegg. If you turn south you go towards Schilchegg.
Note that if you are not the first there, there will probably be some tracks already done.

Descent:

We chose the south side. It is very open and dangerous if there is a lot of fresh snow. The face is wide at the top and gets more closed at the bottom. Be very careful if using this face to ski down.
You can also go in the direction of the ascent and ski through the forest. At the bottom of the south face you get into the forest that is skiable. You need to be careful to go south enough to get on the road that is used for uphill.
