On the northern shore there is a small parking lot, we park here and begin our spitboard / backcountry route (Snowboard Tour).

Route description
Starting point:

Small parking at the northshore of the lake (Speichr Längental)

option B: At the material-lift of Mittergradhütten, at the first bridge below the lake

From the small parking lot on the cross country ski trail along the reservoir and then up the little road a short distance to the west. Just before the road ends, we hike through open forest into the Mittertal. At a suitable point we cross the stream and get into nice splitboard / backcountry terrain.
Here we arrive as well, using the direct option at the material-lift.
Following the forest clearing we ascend to the west until we reach a kind of plateau at about 2,100 m. We go further to the north-west and reach a broad back, which we hike up to the summit. Sometimes it is blown of or pressed by the wind. Arriving at the summit slope, one can rise to both the north summit (2.394m) and some left holding the higher south summit (2,426).

As ascent, at safe conditions you still find good powder at this beginners route.

Ascending option B you can avoid the flat section in Mittertal, crossing the stream on the descent.
