Jussi Taka, a former member of the finnish national team of snowboarding shares his impressions of a complete season in Chamonix (video and story).

Back in Finland I was bit unsure what the upcoming winter would bring. I had resigned from the Finnish national team in snowboarding and rented an apartment in Chamonix without knowing anything or anyone from the there. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. I got introduced to this whole new type of snowboarding made possible by Chamonix.

Incredible lift accessibility - you can easily get 10 000m verts in a day and do the same next day again. Or you can ride first tracks in the morning at Helbronner, Italy and cruise back to Chamonix through Vallee Blanche. Also you can do laps from Aiguille Du Midi in the afternoon - and you still have time to hang out with friends at the village in the evening. Not to mention the vast variety of splitboarding options in those magnificent mountains (a few options are already showed by the guys of splitboarding.eu). I rode the most I’ve ever ridden, learned a lot, got a lot new friends and had the best winter I’ve ever had.

Thanks to everyone for sharing those unforgetable days – Jussi-Oskari Taka
