Jeremy Jones’ uncompromising splitboard boot combines maximum stiffness, a walk-mode cuff and a lighter Michelin sole.

Who is this splitboard boot for?

Jones MTB Lite is built for powerful, technically skilled riders, speed and exposed lines. Its 10/10 flex demands active input, firm pressure and a precise fit; less forceful riders or anyone preferring a loose surf feel should try it before buying.

How do fit and flex feel?

At 10/10 flex, MTB Lite is built around precision and support. The Performance XLT liner, Easy Lace loops and tall cuff stabilise heel and ankle. It suits powerful riders who actively drive the boot on fast, steep descents; riders seeking a surfy, forgiving feel may find it demanding.

What does the boot offer on the climb?

The quick-release walk-mode cuff creates range of motion, while the zipped gaiter keeps snow and ice away from the laces. Michelin Fiberlite, a dual-density midsole and carbon shank combine grip, cushioning and torsional support for bootpacks and traverses.

Which binding matches this boot?

A 10/10 boot with a very stiff highback creates maximum pressure but can feel unnecessarily aggressive with less forceful riding. A medium-stiff highback makes it more versatile. Ankle strap and heelcup must centre the substantial shell cleanly.

Read the underlying principles in our gear guide Finding the perfect boot-binding combination.

What changed from the previous season?

The Lite name captures the key development: a new lighter Michelin Fiberlite sole and tuned dual-density construction. The earlier Jones MTB concept of gaiter, walk mode and very stiff flex remains recognisable.

Have we tested the boot?

We have not personally tested this 26/27 boot. The assessment is based on current manufacturer data, its construction and our existing experience with earlier versions.

Which source did we use?
