Splitpin Hardboot 26/27
A Chur-built custom splitboard hardboot based on the Dalbello Quantum Asolo, using a spring and modified cuff to create a softer downhill feel.
Who is this splitboard boot for?
Splitpin suits hardboot riders who value personal fitting over an off-the-shelf purchase. Its variable spring tuning is especially relevant for riders who find conventional touring shells too abrupt downhill.
How do fit and flex feel?
Each Splitpin is personally fitted with a Thermoflex liner. The heel lock offers three spring rates and continuously adjustable forward lean, while the lateral cuff opening is dynamically tensioned. This allows more tailoring to riding style, weight and desired mobility than an unmodified ski-touring boot.
What does the boot offer on the climb?
With 65 degrees of movement, tech inserts and a narrow shell, Splitpin targets efficient strides, firm traverses and compact crampon use. The system requires tech toes uphill and a compatible hardboot binding downhill; consultation and fitting are part of the product.
Which binding matches this boot?
The selected spring supplies part of the support normally provided by a softboot highback. Downhill binding, canting and forward lean therefore need tuning with Splitpin. More spring travel feels softer; a more direct setting improves edge pressure and response.
Read the underlying principles in our gear guide Finding the perfect boot-binding combination.
What changed from the previous season?
Splitpin continues as a custom-fitted system. Its page still names season 2024/25 but currently lists pricing, consultation and demo service, so we treat it as an available custom product rather than a newly revised series model.
Have we tested the boot?
We have not personally tested this 26/27 boot. The assessment is based on current manufacturer data, its construction and our existing experience with earlier versions.
Which source did we use?
Manufacturer information checked on 21 October 2026: Splitpin Hardboot.
