Key Equipment Disruptive 26/27

A modular splitboard hardboot with tech inserts, a nearly frictionless walk mode and deliberately snowboard-like downhill tuning.

Who is this splitboard boot for?

Disruptive targets splitboarders moving to tech toes while seeking a more progressive ride than an unmodified ski-touring boot. It makes most sense for substantial vertical and technically firm traverses.

How do fit and flex feel?

Disruptive is not a conventional softboot: its shell and pivoting cuff transfer power more directly. Spring action, ankle strap and adjustable forward lean aim to make the plastic shell ride progressively. Choose fit by Mondo size and actual sole length; the liner is a separate part of the system.

What does the boot offer on the climb?

Tech inserts connect the boot directly to compatible tech toes. This places the pivot at the foot and reduces mass lifted with every stride. Walk mode offers broad movement; downhill requires a hardboot binding, compatible pucks or cleats and a fully matched system.

Which binding matches this boot?

Tech toes handle the climb only; downhill requires a hardboot binding such as Spark Dyno DH, Plum SOK or a compatible Phantom system. Sole length, bail tension and canting must be tuned together because small changes strongly affect pressure and mobility.

Read the underlying principles in our gear guide Finding the perfect boot-binding combination.

What changed from the previous season?

The 26/27 model retains its repairable modular principle. Tongue, cuff and wear parts can be replaced; no fundamental platform change is listed from 25/26.

Have we tested the boot?

We have not personally tested this 26/27 boot. The assessment is based on current manufacturer data, its construction and our existing experience with earlier versions.
