A balanced touring softboot with a grippy sole, precise heel hold and enough mobility for long climbs.

Who is this splitboard boot for?

X-plorer suits tourers who want an approachable softboot for changing conditions. Its medium flex works for day tours, tree runs and riders who find very stiff boots too restrictive.

How do fit and flex feel?

Its medium flex is more accessible than very stiff expedition boots. Traditional lacing wraps the shell around the foot, while BOA pulls heel and ankle into the heel pocket. That suits riders who want some touring freedom without losing a defined downhill hold.

What does the boot offer on the climb?

The Vibram Eastridge sole adds tread for bootpacks and rocky sections. XLS and the mobile cuff support a longer stride; D-Tex, Rock Guard and Double Back protect against moisture, rocks and binding wear.

Which binding matches this boot?

A medium-support highback best complements the 6/10 flex: it supports traverses while retaining lateral freedom in powder. A very soft binding feels comfortable and surfy but loses edge pressure sooner on firm snow.

Read the underlying principles in our gear guide Finding the perfect boot-binding combination.

What changed from the previous season?

Shape, flex and equipment match the familiar 25/26 model. No fundamental construction change is listed for 26/27.

Have we tested the boot?

We have not personally tested this 26/27 boot. The assessment is based on current manufacturer data, its construction and our existing experience with earlier versions.
